How to Measure Yourself – So You’ll Love the Final Result
15 February 2026Hi, hi!
Alright… it finally happened.
We have launched our website.
For many years it was our small Achilles’ heel. From the very beginning people kept asking, “Why don’t you have a website?” And I… well. I was postponing it, partly on purpose.
The first years were a test for us. We wanted to be sure that what we were doing truly made sense. That the quality we place in your hands is something we can stand behind with pride. That this is not a temporary impulse, but real craftsmanship.
And it was you, the community around Fabrica Cacti, who year after year reassured us that this work has value.
For that, we are deeply grateful.
Then came the thought, “Let’s build up more products in stock first, then we’ll launch the website.”
And then… we simply kept making things. And there was no time left at all.
The recent situation with Facebook and the removal of my private account left me with absolutely no excuses. So here it is, our own place on the web.
What are we working on now?
We are not slowing down. We are designing new pieces, developing older ideas, testing new solutions.
Next week Faber and I are heading into the forge for an intense session. A full week of work on new blades. Gladii, barbarian swords, and one republican project that gives us particular joy.
Niobe has just completed a large project involving a subarmalis and pteruges. It turned out beautifully. It deserves a separate post, and it will get one.
Wojciech is back with us, fully engaged in woodwork. New constructions are taking shape. Small chests, coin boxes, shields. In the background, projects for enthusiasts of Late Antiquity military equipment are slowly maturing.
Things are happening.
And privately?
It is intense here as well.
Within the next ten days I am moving into a new house. That means yet another workshop change. Those of you who know the reality of craftsmanship understand that this does not support calm, organic leather work, which is my main field. Footwear, bags, detailed leather pieces.
Despite that, every single day I do my best to fulfill your orders properly.
So I kindly ask for a little patience and trust. As soon as the new workshop is ready, I will let you know. And the possibilities will be greater than before. That means expanding our original craft offer.
Why am I writing this?
Because I want you to know one thing.
Fabrica Cacti is not a product catalogue.
It is a team of craftsmen.
It is a passion for history.
It is a love for antiquity and for material.
It is people who create, and people who need these objects.
That means you.
I, Cactus, am incredibly fortunate to have turned my fascination with ancient culture into a way of life. And all of this is possible because of you.
From time to time I will share these more personal updates here. I want you to see that this is alive. That it is not a marketplace. That behind it stand real hands, real decisions, and real changes.
Thank you for being with us.
And I hope you will stay for the journey.
Cactus
