Roman Tunic
Hand-Sewn Wool Tunic – Early Imperial Period
The Roman tunic was the basic garment worn by soldiers and civilians throughout the Roman Empire. Our tunics are created as historically grounded reconstructions, developed through years of study, experimentation, and practical use within reenactment and living history environments.
The design is based on careful analysis of ancient sculptures, reliefs, and archaeological textile finds from the Early Imperial period. The final form is the result of long-term testing carried out together with reenactment groups such as Legio XXI Rapax and the Hellas et Roma.

Common colors included natural browns, off-whites, yellowish tones, and red
-
From the 3rd century AD onward, clavi (vertical decorative stripes) became common even among ordinary soldiers
-
Some sources suggest blue and green tones for naval troops (classiarii)
